Rancho Bohemia proprietor Mark Charles Hattersley is a versatile keyboardist, vocalist, composer, producer and engineer with a rare combination of technical and creative abilities and experience. Mark composed and produced "Right Place, Right Time," Tony Gwynn’s 3000 hit tribute for the Gwynn family, distributed by Cox Cable and the Padres. Documentaries he has scored include Freshwater Seas - the Great Lakes and Relentless (Winner: Best Score, Barcelona Planet Film Festival), produced by T. Lindsey Haskin and narrated by Oscar winner J.K. Simmons. Mark is house keyboardist for Loft 100 Productions and regularly featured on KUSI’s On The Air and the nationally syndicated The Big Biz Show. On the live front, look for "Hats" performing in West Coast music festivals on keys as part of Sullyband, the group awarded “Best Live Band” at the 2020 San Diego Music Awards.

Clients find he is quickly able to understand and respond to their needs; Mark's years of experience in analyzing song structure and arrangement as President and Advisor to the San Diego Songwriters Guild allows him to make the most of every production opportunity, be it a single song demo, album or EP, or sound-for-picture project.

Mark's chops extend beyond the creative and into the technical aspects of music production, from audio engineering, mixing, mastering and programming to studio design and construction, production systems consultation and project management. As a principal of Chrismark Datacontrol, Mark coordinated the design, manufacturing and marketing of Fourplay, the first multi-bank data cartridge created for the venerable Yamaha DX7 synthesizer. His comprehensive understanding of audio and acoustics underpins the design of Rancho Bohemia Studios, and his diverse musical background is reflected in his productions covering a broad range of genres, from folk and Americana to jazz, ambient, EDM, funk, pop and rock & roll.
